Dover Federal President and CEO Given Position on Important Industry Committee
January 2, 2013 - Dover Federal Credit Union is proud to announce that David Clendaniel, President and CEO, has been appointed to the Legislative Committee of the National Association of Federal Credit Unions.
The National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU), founded in 1967, is a trade association that represents the interests of federal credit unions before the federal government and the public. The Legislative Committee, in particular, is tasked with monitoring all federal legislative action relevant to NAFCU's mission in order to recommend appropriate policy positions to the NAFCU Board. The Legislative Committee also works to develop programs and deliver information to the Association's member organizations, in order to enhance their understanding of issues affecting credit unions.
Mr. Clendaniel was previously a member of NAFCU's Region II Advisory Committee, a position he held for over five years. In addition to his new position on NAFCU's Legislative Committee, Mr. Clendaniel currently serves on the Federal Credit Union Subcommittee of the Credit Union National Association, as well as the Government Affairs Committee of the Delaware Credit Union League and the Legislative Affairs Committee of the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce.
When asked about his appointment to the Committee, Mr. Clendaniel was enthusiastic. "I'm proud to have been given this responsibility, and I look forward to helping NAFCU in its important work of advocating for federal credit unions and their members. The members of Dover Federal Credit Union are our first priority, so any opportunity to advance the interests of our members is welcome."
