Dover Federal Employees Donate Turkeys to Delaware Food Bank
November 26, 2012 - Dover Federal Credit Union is proud to announce its participation in the 15th annual Turkey Round Up, a program that helps the Food Bank of Delaware collect and distribute turkeys to families in need during the holiday season.
Employees of Dover Federal Credit Union recently donated turkey gift vouchers to the Turkey Round Up program so that turkeys could be purchased for hungry Delawareans. A check in the amount of $940.00 was presented to the Food Bank of Delaware to represent the total of the vouchers donated by the Dover Federal employees. The actual vouchers were presented to the Food Bank at the benefit that was held at Buffalo Wild Wings Grill and Bar in Dover on Friday, November 9th.
When asked about the Credit Union's participation, David Clendaniel, Dover Federal's President and CEO, was enthusiastic. "We couldn't be more pleased by this opportunity to contribute to the vital work of the Food Bank of Delaware," he said, "and we are immensely proud of our employees' generosity and community spirit in donating to the Turkey Round Up program."
The Delaware Food Bank is a statewide hunger-relief organization with operations in both Newark and Milford. In addition to providing low- and no-cost food to assistance programs throughout the Delaware region, the Food Bank also works to educate the community about issues of hunger and food insecurity and to provide vocational training and advocacy to individuals in need of hunger relief.
