Dover Federal Credit Union knows that systematic racism exists not only in America, but also in the communities that we serve. We refuse to ignore that problem. We refuse to turn our backs on those who are experiencing inequalities at any level. We refuse to sit back and be silent, BUT we also refuse to just publish a statement. Instead, we pledge to drive change in the financial services industry and have been putting a plan of action in place over the last week.

In lieu of events that have occurred in the past few months, Dover Federal Credit Union has had some very tough conversations regarding how we serve the underserved communities. Some of the events that have been discussed in recent conversations surround the inequalities in the financial services industry like access to the Paycheck Protection Program.

We have concluded that we can no longer talk about these inequalities and not work towards being a bridge to the gap. That is why Dover Federal Credit Union has already begun to form a task force both internally and externally to address the unequal access to financial services and resources needed in the communities we serve. We pledge to do our best to bring financial equality to our communities and we stand in solidarity with those who are doing what is right and fighting racism wherever it crops up.

We pledge to do our best to bring financial equality to our communities.

Truly yours,

Chaz Rzewnicki
